Report Accident

1.     When an accident occurs in a country, which is party to the Protocol, in which a holder of a Yellow Card is involved, and which may give rise to a claim against the policyholder, the Handling Bureau in that country shall receive all relevant notifications on behalf of the Insurer and the Issuing Bureau.

2.     As soon as any such accident is notified, the Handling Bureau, without waiting for a formal claim against the holder of the Yellow Card, shall proceed with the normal and claims handling practises of investigations, and evaluation of the loss.

3.     The Handling Bureau shall also notify the Issuing Bureau of the accident for further transmission to its Member who delivered the Yellow Card to the policyholder.

4.     Nothing in this Agreement relieves the policyholder from the duty to give notice to his Insurer regarding the accident in which the insured involved.
